In the following clip from our program Retirepreneur TV, Donna expands on her choice to move from her home office to a local coworking space at Tech Hub Hudson. Through the change Donna has found a better work/life balance as well as additional spaces to host networking opportunities.
And, the research is in on coworking – it works (pun intended) and can lead to a better balanced work life. According to a recent report from researchers with the University of Michigan Ross School of Business, people who chose coworking spaces rated their sense of thriving on a 6 out of a 7 point scale. As Donna noted in her experience, research backs up the fact that too much autonomy can cripple workers. Coworking spaces can provide a sense of routine and structure often missing in the home office or local coffee shop.
The coworking trend only continues to grow with an expected annual growth rate of 16 percent. Overall, here at Retirepreneur it works for us now and gives us the benefits of structure along with enhanced technology. But we would love to hear from YOU, have you tried coworking? Tell us your feedback in the comments!
